Podlaskie voivodeship spent 120 thousand zlotys on folk costumes

In Bialystok the voivodeship council signed contracts for the purchase of folk and historical costumes.

The goal is to support Podlaskie regional collectives and initiatives with props that popularize local traditions in the field of folklore (music, dance, singing and rituals) and history, says Magdalena Zelinska, head of the Living History Foundation HANZA.

“This is an accurate reconstruction of the Baltic clothing from the territory of Suvalshchizna, made on the basis of archaeological excavations on the border with Lithuania. We executed the formation very accurately, based on all the data available to us. The material is also Historical, everything is made by hand, the structure is painted with natural colors. This is how it could have looked 600 years ago,” Zelinska said.

Within the framework of the project to support the purchase of folk costumes of Podlasie, subsidies totaling 120 thousand zlotys were allocated from the Voivodeship budget. A total of 13 projects were supported.
