The Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus has opened in Prague

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipowski inaugurated the Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus in the Czech Republic.

Kryścina Šyjanok, one of the leaders of the Belarusian community in the Czech Republic, has been appointed Director of the Office.

“The official participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Lipovsky, at the so-called inauguration of our Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus in the Czech Republic, which took place on March 25 during the official visit of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to the Czech Republic. The Office itself appeared on November 17, 2022. And now we just had the opportunity to be physically in the room and use this room for events, for advisory activities, for meetings, negotiations, etc.,” said Kryścina Šyjanok.

According to Kryścina Šyjanok, during the meetings in Prague, Chairman of the Czech Senate Miloš Vystrčil stressed that Prague could become the location of the government of Belarusians in exile, by analogy with the BPR Rada. The office will primarily become a “Belarusian home” for Belarusians and diaspora organizations.
