In 2023 7.7 thousand Belarusians became individual entrepreneurs in Poland.
19% of individual entrepreneurs registered in Poland in 2023 are citizens of Belarus, according to the data of the Polish Economic Institute. In total 7663 Belarusians were granted the status of an individual entrepreneur in Poland last year.
According to published information, 61% of Belarusian individual entrepreneurs are registered in the field of information and communications, “the vast majority” are allegedly engaged in “software-related activities.”
Belarusians have opened 12% of individual enterprises in the field of “professional, scientific or technical activities”, 6% in construction.
In 2023, more than 88 thousand people worked in the Belarusian IT sector. This is 16%, or 17.6 thousand less than in 2022. According to official data alone, the Belarusian IT sector lost more than 22.5 thousand people in 2022-2023, it was reported in February 2024 devby.io.
