Almost half of Poles have a negative attitude towards Belarusians

47% of Polish citizens have a negative attitude towards Belarusians, as evidenced by the results of the latest sociological study conducted by the Polish Center for the Study of Public Opinion.

Only 24% of respondents expressed sympathy for Belarusians, another 21% treat Belarusians indifferently, 8% found it difficult to answer.

Poles have a more negative attitude only towards Russians — 76% of respondents have a negative attitude towards them, only 8% stated a positive attitude. Ukrainians were positively assessed by 40% of respondents, negatively by 30%.

According to data published in February this year, more than 60 thousand Belarusians moved to Poland in 2023 alone. The total number of Belarusians in Poland has increased 6.5 times over the past five years and is now estimated at about 310 thousand people.
