Another nuclear power plant may be built in the south of Belarus

Another nuclear power plant may be built in the south of Belarus. Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev told about this in the State Duma, RIA Novosti reports.

Likhachev said that the Ministries of Energy of Belarus and Russia are working on Lukashenka’s order to build “new nuclear facilities.” “There is an option to build a third unit on Astravets. There is an option to build a two-block nuclear power plant in the south of Belarus… we are ready for both options,” said the head of Rosatom.

As you know, when choosing a site for the construction of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant, three sites were considered – Astravetskaya in the Grodna region, Krasnapalyanskaya and Kukshinouskaya in the Mogilev region. They chose Astravetskaya.
