Belarusians paid tribute to the memory of political prisoner Ihar Lednik in Bialystok

Another death of a political prisoner in the prisons of Lukashenka, this time the social democrat Ihar Lednik, stirred up the Belarusian diaspora of Bialystok. About twenty people took part in a spontaneous rally tonight near the Consulate General of Belarus, where flowers were brought and candles were lit in memory of political prisoners who will not be released alive.

Just yesterday, Belarusians of Bialystok gathered in front of the voivodeship administration and sent a petition to the Polish authorities to issue an ultimatum to Alexander Lukashenko demanding the release of all Belarusian political prisoners and threatened to stop the movement of freight rail transport. And today the topic of political prisoners was heard again in Bialystok. This time, near the Consulate General, where a kind of memorial to those killed by the Lukashenka regime was previously created. Now a portrait of Igor Lednik has been added to these portraits, who died of heart disease at the age of 63 while serving a sentence in the Babruisk colony for allegedly slandering Lukashenka.

The action lasted about half an hour. After standing with flags and banners, the participants of the event dispersed, leaving behind new flowers and candles.
