Polish police may start hiring foreigners. The Main Commandant’s Office of the Polish Police is studying this possibility, RMF FM writes.

It is reported that we can talk about both recruitment and contracts as consultants. The reason for such measures is called a shortage of personnel. The police also believe that in this way they will be able to increase the effectiveness of crime prevention.

The number of foreigners has increased in Poland, and the recruitment of new personnel will help to better understand the cultural characteristics of migrants and the specifics of crime among them. Therefore, first of all, the Polish police are interested in citizens of Belarus, Ukraine and Georgia, but also in representatives of other countries.

At the beginning of the year, it was reported that foreigners committed 17,278 crimes in Poland last year. More than half of them were citizens of Ukraine, representatives of Georgia are in second place, Belarusians are in third (1,030 people). The most common charge in cases involving foreigners was drunk driving and violating injunctions. A significant number were also involved in theft and drug possession.
