The number of people employed in the Belarusian economy decreased by 11,000 in January compared to the previous month. This follows from the data of the Belarusian Statistical Committee.
In total, the economy lost almost 44 thousand workers last year, and over the past three years – more than 166 thousand.
The IT-sector has lost many specialists. According to the calculations of the publication devby.io over the past two years, this sector has officially lost more than 22.5 thousand persons. It is assumed that about 88 thousand persons worked in IT in Belarus last year, which is 16 percent less than the year before last. In addition, for the first time in the last three years, this number turned out to be less than 100 thousand.
